A few months ago I was perusing Seeds Now and ended up on the lettuce page. I was delighted to find a video on how to successfully plant lettuce in containers…which was the whole point of buying the lettuce seeds. I watched the Gardenerd video and found myself watching several others on the same channel.
Then I went promptly to her Facebook page to like it and tell her how much I liked her videos. Well to my surprise she came over to the Imperfectly Happy FB page too. So started a lovely Facebook following of comments and likes… Until one day I announced the homesteading show and asked if anyone had something interesting to share and would like to be a guest on the show. Christy was the first to respond!
In the meantime Christy’s new book was released, Gardening For Geeks. I practically ran to the store to check it out. I sat in the coffee shop at the bookstore and devoured the book and a caramel macchiato with equal enthusiasm. Needless to say, I bought the book. I worried that with a book called Gardening for Geeks and words like microbiology, ecology and mathematics on the cover, it would be over my head. But I found this to be quite the opposite. The book is a gem, a treasure trove of information that is well laid out and just geeky enough to make is stand out over the basic ho-hum gardening books. I absolutely love the “Geeky Gardening Tips” laced throughout the book.
Well the time for the interview finally came and I am so excited to share it with you. Christy has decades of experience in the garden and so much wisdom to share.
So take a listen to The Imperfectly Happy Homesteader now but don’t forget to enter into the giveaway below. Christy is giving away an author signed copy of Gardening for Geeks!
