Fast & Easy Shredded Chicken from The Instant Pot Fresh or Frozen

Ingredients

  • 3 Pounds Boneless Skinless Chicken breast or thighs
  • 1 Cup Chicken or Vegetable Broth you can use water too in a pinch
  • 1 Teaspoon Salt 2 teaspoons if using water instead of broth
  • 2 Teaspoons Pepper
  • Other seasonings to your taste optional

Instructions

  1. Put all of your ingredients in the Instant Pot.
  2. Secure the lid and make sure the vent is in the sealed position.
  3. If you're cooking fresh chicken you'll set the Instant Pot to Poultry, High Pressure for 6 minutes.
  4. If you're cooking frozen chicken you'll set the Instant Pot to Poultry, High Pressure for 11 minutes.
  5. Once cooking is completed allow a natural release for 5 - 6 minutes and then do a quick release for the rest of the pressure.
  6. Remove your chicken from the pot, reserve a 1/2 of the liquid if you want a more moist shredded chicken.
