Course bread
Keyword fresh bread, homemade bread, white bread

Ingredients

  • ½ to 6 cups All Purpose Flour see recipe for divided amounts
  • 3 tbsp Granulated Sugar
  • 4 1/2 tsp Yeast
  • 2 tsp Salt and Pepper to taste
  • 1 1/2 cups Water
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 2 tbsp Butter

Instructions

  1. Gather all your ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, add in 2 cups flour, granulated sugar, yeast, and salt. Mix.

  2. In a small bowl, microwave milk, water, and butter. You want this mixture to be warm, but not hot. If you have a food thermometer, you can check the temperature. You will want it to be between 120-130 degrees.

Add your butter mixture to your flour mixture.

  3. Using a stand mixture, beat your mixture at medium speed for about two minutes. Every so often, turn it off, and scrape the sides of the bowl to make sure everything is well incorporated.

After the two minutes, add in 1 cup of flour. Mix for another two minutes. Continue until your dough forms into a ball.

On a flat lightly floured surface, transfer your dough. Lightly knead for about 5-8 minutes.

  4. Cover your dough with a clean kitchen towel and allow it to rest for about 10 minutes.

Cut your dough into 2 equal pieces. Using a rolling pin (and more flour if your dough tries sticking to your rolling pin), roll your dough out to a 12×7 inch rectangle.

  5. At the short end of the rectangle, roll your dough.

Spray your pan with cooking spray. Add in your bread. Cover with your clean kitchen towel for an additional 45 minutes.

  6. While it is sitting, preheat your oven to 400 degrees.

After your bread is done rising at 45 minutes, bake for 20 to 30 minutes until golden brown. Every oven is different so keep an eye out.

  7. Once done, transfer your bread to a wire rack to allow to cool. Slice and enjoy!
