A Simple Shredded Chicken Recipe on the Stove Top


  • 3 Pounds Boneless Skinless Chicken breast or thighs
  • Enough Chicken or Vegetable Broth to Cover the Meat Entirely you can use water too in a pinch
  • 1 Teaspoon Salt 2 teaspoons if using water instead of broth
  • 2 Teaspoons Pepper
  • Other seasonings to your taste optional
  • Large Pot


  1. In your large pot add the chicken and liquad making sure the meat is entirely covered.
  2. Bring it to a boil and then reduce the heat to a simmer for 8 - 10 minutes (chicken juices should run clear if fully cooked).
  3. Drain the lidquid and your chicken is ready for shredding.
