The Best Vintage Pecan Bar Recipe

Ingredients

For Pecan Bar Crust

  • 1 cup Butter
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 2 1/2 cups Flour

For Pecan Bar Filling

  • 3/4 cup Brown Sugar
  • 5 Tbl Butter
  • 1 cup Light Corn Syrup
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 2 tsp Vanilla
  • 3 large Eggs beaten
  • 1 1/2 cups Chopped Pecans

Instructions

For Pecan Bar Crust

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

  2. Prepare your 9 x 13 pan with cooking spray or butter.

  3. Cream butter and sugar.

  4. Add in flour and mix well.

  5. Press dough by hand into prepared 9×13 dish.

  6. Poke a few holes along the crust.

For Pecan Bar Filling

  1. Place butter, corn syrup, salt, and brown sugar into small pot.

  2. Turn heat on medium.

  3. Slowly bring to a boil (stirring to prevent burning).

  4. Let boil for one minute.

  5. Remove from heat and stir in pecans and vanilla extract.

  6. Let cool for 5 minutes.

  7. After 5 minutes mix in eggs.

  8. Pour onto crust.

  9. Bake at 400 degrees for 40-45 minutes.
