No Voice, No Sleep…

August 1, 2013 by Tiffany Davis Leave a Comment

No voice?  No sleep?  Still having the time of your life?  Ahhhh, you must be in theater!

Yes friends, we are in the 2nd week of production for Fiddler on the roof.  The house and micro-farm are getting the very basics of attention while my energies are diverted to performances and late night trips to Ihop with cast members.

Some of the cast backstage – can you find me?

We have 3 more performances this week before we pack up Anatevka.  This show has been an amazing experience!  I have been challenged musically – Fiddler has some timing challenges that  are rough for someone who doesn’t have formal music/voice training. And I have been challenged through choreography – well at least my poor knee has.

I have also made new friends and was blessed to spend time with friends made during Music Man last year, that I don’t get to see often enough.  I have had the opportunity, once again, to watch a random group because a close-knit community…a town…Anatevka.  Community theater is a microcosm in the truest sense; from our fearless leaders (aka directors) to our rag-tag misfits (aka chorus).  All these large personalities, large voices and all in a variety of ages, shapes and backgrounds coming together with the one goal of producing a quality show.  AMAZING…

But I assure you that plans are in the works for a fall garden, addition of 2-3 more chickens to the flock and new rabbit kits into our little fold.  I am also gearing up for another year of homeschool and I am excited to share our curriculum choices for this fall.

So stay tuned my friends, stay tuned.

***On a side note!*** You may have noticed the new look on the blog.  I was given such a gift in my sweet niece.  She is a talented artist that created the new header for me; incorporating all the little aspects of my interests and personality.  Erika is available for commissioned artwork for you too.  You can reach her, for now, on her Facebook fan page Erika Davis.
