OK, more like Home…Home in the Suburbs…but let a girl dream!
Our tiny Phoenix yard is about 1039 square feet. I have to admit I have made very little use of most of the space thus far. We have a small garden and the chicken coop. The rest of the yard is full of dirt ( dog poop the girls need to clean) and bushes that were planted here when we bought the space.
We don’t really use the yard. When I envisioned a backyard homestead I dreamed of sitting on the porch having sun tea and watching the chickens scamper around. Right now we are hop, skip and a jump from Sanford & Son Down on the Farm…
So in the spirit of “failing to plan is planning to fail”, I have made an initial plan for the yard! My girls are still lobbying for goats but I am not sure how the neighbors (and the HOA) would feel about that; I’m lucky I have the hens. So this plan does not include a goat area, but I have one. 😉
We will also have rabbits on the porch in the cooler months and I’d like to have a space for quail (for meat & eggs). I’m still trying to decide if “cage free” quail is workable. Thoughts?

I created this in Microsoft word using tables.
