Go Bulletproof Today- Bulletproof Coffee

July 3, 2013 by Tiffany Davis 34 Comments

I love bulletproof coffee!  You have not truly enjoyed all the benefits of coffee until you’ve gone Bulletproof – bulletproof coffee that is!  This lovely cup of coffee not only gives you a great dose of healthy fats but I have found a renewed energy, in drinking it, that is amazing.  If that wasn’t enough, when I have bulletproof coffee with, or before my breakfast, I find myself snacking a lot less during the day; and often I stay full past my normal lunch time.

Bulletproof Coffee by ImperfectlyHappy.com

You’ll find other recipes for bulletproof coffee, but the ingredients are basically the same.  This recipe works for me.

My Bulletproof Coffee Recipe

  • 10 – 12 oz of organic black coffee
  • 1 tablespoon of organic coconut oil (I use Trader Joe’s most of the time)
  • 1 tablespoon of grass-fed butter (Kerrygold is a great option if you can’t make your own)
  • 1/2 a teaspoon of real vanilla extract
  • 1 – 2 droppers of liquid stevia, optional and to taste

When you make your bulletproof coffee it is important you blend well before drinking.  I like to use my mini whisk!

I must emphatically insist that you use a good organic coconut oil and butter with cream from grass-fed cows.  Do not, I repeat DO NOT, try this with some chemical crap-storm like margarine…not getting on soap box….not getting on soap box….  But seriously there are ZERO benefits to eating margarine and a lot of negatives.

Have you tried bulletproof coffee?  I’d love to hear your experience with bulletproof coffee – you can leave me a message in the comments.

What are you waiting for???

I make bulletproof coffee with unsalted butter and I am assuming you do too? The Kerrygold package in the picture is the salted kind. Unsalted has a silver packaging. May want to update it so that people aren’t confused or turned off.

I have done both and I really don’t mind the salted.

If you don’t stay carb free this will still build cholesterol and kill you. If you’re on the ketogenic or paleo diet… this recipe is great for you!

Is anyone else amused by the fact that she used bullet points to deliver her bullet proof coffee recipe? No? Just me? Okay.
For real though… Trying this this morning!

I’ve done it but I recommend only having 1, then switch to a regular cup.

Made this for the first time this morning. Left out the stevia and added heavy cream. I’m loving this and can see myself having this every morning!!!! I really didn’t think I would like the butter & coconut oil in it but WOW!! No sweetener needed and really good!! Thanks for the recipe!

Reluctantly tried it today because apparently I’m a big scaredy-cat! BUT…. it’s delicious and I actually like it better than my usual coffee! I’m trying to move away from
Splenda and with this coffee, it’s not needed! Thanks for sharing!

Can you use cream in the bulletproof coffee. I prefer cream and no sugar in my coffee.

Yes but you want to be careful not to overdo the cream, it does have trace carbs.
