A Moment of Silence Please

August 9, 2013 by Tiffany Davis Leave a Comment

Today’s Foto Friday is one filled with anguish…you’ve been warned.

On July 20th I posted this picture of my lovely green bell pepper plants…

IMG_1958[1]Beautiful, healthy and growing…

But then came 2 weeks of production and several days of bronchitis.  My garden was being watered by my loving husband but he isn’t an early riser.  There was no one to scare off some of the braver neighborhood birds who’ve been picking on my plants!

Then a week ago I walked out TO THIS!  (play mournful music and pause for dramatic effect)

greenpeppersThe horror!  The agony!  Those nasty birds picked my plants clean…down to the NUB!

I may have wished death on a bird or two.  I may have even raised a fist to the sky and demanded to know W H Y.  Or I may have just kicked the side of the garden boxed and grumbled.  :/

I was in mourning…I couldn’t even share my sorrows here until today.  All my dreams of stir frys and stuffed peppers were taken in a bird rampage of momentous proportions!!!!

Ok, I add some dramatic flair for fun and effect but seriously…seriously?  This bummed me out.  I didn’t want to take time with all of this when I finally get back to The Saturday Garden Report so I’m sharing it as my Foto Friday.

Happy Tidings my fellow gardeners!
