I am one of those sickening morning people. Don’t get me wrong, I need my coffee to get the “engine” primed and ready; but I love the mornings.
I went straight out to the garden this morning. The first thing I did was plant the celery that has been sprouting on my counter for 2 weeks. It is finally in the ground!
Last year I planted celery seeds. Can I just tell you that may be one of the slowest growing vegetables of all time?
By the time it finally was big enough to get some real edible stalks…it froze.
Live and learn! This time I re-grew from an organic stalk I bought at Trader Joe’s.
I watered the rest of the garden and I saw quite a few carrot “hairs” popping up through the soil. My lemon squash has doubled in size! And I am happy to report every broccoli speed planted has sprouted. They’ll go into the box with the cauliflower sprouts this weekend.
Then over to throw some greens to the hens and chat them up a bit. They are very talkative in the morning.
Check out my nest bounty (remember we only have 5 lovely ladies).
Now I’m sipping coffee and checking Facebook before the family gets up.
A full day of homeschooling and housework is on the agenda today.
Have a blessed Wednesday!
