I am not going to lie and say this scripture is simple to carry out in life. But then Jesus didn’t challenge us to live in a way that was easy. How much would it change our day to day lives if every time we were hurt, offended, persecuted, mad or sad we prayed for those that caused that ill in our lives?
I may be praying a lot more in my car…just saying.
This is not an easy task but a brave one. I’ve struggled with this myself and found that it is healing. Someone told me yesterday that holding a grudge is like drinking the poison yourself and expecting the other person to die. excellent point. I am going to pray for the jerks who left their dog in a hot car while they sat in front of it eating ice cream today!
Thanks for the reminder.
Shannon….we are going to be good buds! 😉 I couldn’t agree more with grudges being poison to you. AND I actually talked to someone that left their dog in the car the in May. It was night and the windows were down but it is still WAY too hot for that. My family cringes when I do that – but we have to stand up for those (animals included) who can’t stand up for themselves…and pray.
