I can’t believe it is June already – we are half way through 2017 folks! But you know what else June means? It is Father’s Day again! That wondrous day where we celebrate the awesome dads in our lives; especially our homesteading dads!
I know that men can be notoriously hard to shop for but homesteading dads don’t have to be; because I’ve put a list together of the best Father’s Day gifts for homesteading dads. You are sure to find a few things that your dad, spouse, uncle or other father figure will love. But if you have anything to add, please leave a comment.
FYI, just in case, Father’s Day 2018 is June 17th!
The Best Father’s Day Gifts for Homesteading Dads
I have tried to group these into a few categories to make it easy to search, depending on your homesteading dad’s interest. But really, any of these gifts would be a great addition to a homestead!
My first recommendation would be to get Dad a subscription to The Homestead Box! Then he gets a gift every month!
Homesteading Dads – In The Garden
Garden Hat – My husband and I both have these and wouldn’t be out in the summer sun without them.
Garden Chair – I got this exact model for Christmas and my husband likes it too.
Tumble Composter – If dad loves to garden then he’ll want a good composter for making amazing soil! Or if you’re feel like making a gift, try my DIY Compost Bin.
Rain Collection System – Help your homesteading dad to be more sustainable with his own rain barrel!
Homesteading Dads – Who Love the Great Outdoors
CampChef Stove – great to take on camping trips or as an outdoor stove. Bonus – can be used for canning too!
Cast Iron Cookware – cast iron cookware is so versatile and if you take care of it, you’ll have it forever. I use mine in the kitchen but dad might prefer it over an open flame!
Kelly Kettle – Camping and great for survivalist dads that want to be extra prepared in an emergency. The Kelly Kettle Base Camp kit will have you boiling water in under 5 minutes with no bulky equipment.
Homesteading Dads – Cooking, Grilling and More
Smoker – How about a charcoal smoker? Smokes up to 150 lbs of MEAT…oh yeah.
Dehydrator – Whether dad wants to make his own beef jerky or dehydrate his own special blend of spices; this is the KING of dehydrators.
Sun Oven – Light enough to take on camping trips or in the RV but awesome just in your backyard. I love my Sun Oven!
Homesteading Dads – For the Hard Work
Work Boots – A good, solid pair of waterproof workbooks can be a real gift to your hardworking dad!
Work Gloves – We got these for my father-in-law last year. He is always working on a project and these are still going strong for them.
Head Lamp – A great gift for under $10 – gives dad some hands free lighting!
Homesteading Dads – Miscellaneous
Cowboy Boots – Is dad ready for some boot scootin? A nice pair of Justin’s boots, in any style, will make him smile.
Pocket Knife – A solid straight edge pocket knife is a tool every homesteader should have.
A Fun Dad Shirt – So many choices!
Well I hope my list helps you decide on a gift or gifts for this Father’s day!
