Do you fry the bacon before chopping it and adding to the other ingredients? Or just put it in the Instant Pot raw and uncooked?

I’ve done it both ways but I prefer it precooked.

I followed the recipe with the exception of the bacon. They came out complete mush. So disappointed. I might try again and set it to 1 minute.

I’m so sorry. I’ve done this recipe several times with great results. I would try reducing the time by one minute and see if that gives you better results.

High pressure or low pressure? We tried high pressure and got mushy results.

Hi this is the second dish in my instant pot. I’m confused about when you say it takes 3 min and it’s done.Yes, I put it on manual for 3 minutes but it doesn’t even get up to pressure in 3 minutes. What am I missing?

First make sure you have the steam release shut. If that doesn’t help add a little more water, like a 1/4 cup.

I love coconut oil, it has a lot of health benefits. But you could use the oil of your choice.

I don’t have the option for low pressure on my IP. Do you think 1 minute would be an appropriate cooke time for me?

They probably won’t need more time. But if anything, only a minute.

I used the recipe as a guide for how long in the ILz
My version I added sliced cooked chicken breast, carrots and a pour of balsamic vinegar.
    Little less water.
3 min low pressure, 3 min natural pressure release.
When I reheat as leftovers, I’ll use the toaster oven to give it a roasted taste and maybe add some toasted pecans.
    Yum!!

Probably but I find that, generally speaking, frozen veggies will be a little mushy so you might want to pull back on the time a bit.

What is the serving size on that recipe? If I doubled it or tripled the recipe should I go higher on the time ?

Sorry, I don’t have a serving size on this. I would not increase the cooking time on double, and I would not try tripling the recipe for best results.

As long as you’re not adding more sprouts, should be fine.

I love this recipe and have made it numerous times with great results each time. I have always made 2 lbs of Brussels sprouts bc that’s the size of the bag (fresh) at Costco. I used the 2 lb bag tonight but questioned if I was supposed to double the water to make it 1 cup since I had double the Brussels sprouts. For some reason I couldn’t manage to remember if I’d doubled the water before or not??? So I went with 3/4 cup. I followed the directions and set my IP to low pressure for 3 minutes. I was also questioning the low pressure like I questioned the amount of water. I don’t remember doing low pressure before either??? So long story short….. the brussel sprouts were under cooked and uneven as well. Some were barely soft and others were quite a bit more. What did I do wrong this time??? 😩

It may simply been too many sprouts in the pot at once, or you might have needed an extra minute.
