Soothing Chamomile Lavender Mist

January 14, 2016 by Tiffany Davis 1 Comment

Soothing Chamomile & Lavender Mist. DIY using your essential oils - perfect bedtime spray. |ImperfectlyHappy.com

A Soothing Chamomile Lavender Mist may be just the thing you need for a relaxing night sleep. Have you ever had one of those nights (or weeks) where your body is dead tired but you can’t get your mind to slow down? It happens around here more than I care to admit. Sure I drink tea, I love it; but sometimes I’m just not in the mood to chug a mug. That’s where this soothing chamomile lavender mist rescues me. Chamomile and lavender are relaxing separately but together they our the powerhouse of relaxation.  Just using good quality essential oils, you can have a bedroom mist to help you calm mind and body.

Soothing Chamomile Lavender Mist

Ingredients

2 oz glass spray bottle (like this)

2 Tablespoons of vodka (cheap is fine)

10 – 15 drops of chamomile essential oil (I recommend this brand)

10 – 15 drops of lavender essential oil (my favorite)

Distilled water

Directions

  1. Add the vodka to the bottle
  2. Put in your essential oils
  3. Fill the bottle with the distilled water, leaving some room for mixing/shaking (about 3/4 of the way is good)
  4. Put the lid back on and give it a gentle shake, you’ll do this before each use too

How to use your Soothing Chamomile Lavender Mist

Give your bottle a little shake and give your pillow or sheets 1 – 3 sprays, a little goes a long way. I like its relaxing effects and it smells like I’m at an expensive spa for the night.

My kids like it to; in fact my 10 year old won’t go to bed without a spritz.  However I don’t recommend you spraying it directly on bedding for babies and toddlers.
