I can’t help it, I’m a FALL FREAK! I love all things Fall! I especially love the awesome Fall activities that we do as a family. So I just had to put together our families’ top fall activities for you.
Fall Activities Your Family Will Love – In No Particular Order
Go on a Hayride
Put on the sweaters and boots – it is time to snuggle up for a family hayride. They are pretty easy to find around the Halloween time so check your local pumpkin patches.
Pick Apples at an Orchard
If you don’t grow your own already, picking apples at a real orchard is awesome. Nothing says Fall like the wind blowing through the orchard and taking home apples for a yummy pie.
Make S’mores Around a Campfire
This is one of our favorite Fall activities. I like my marshmallows nearly burnt – yes I light them on FIRE! Just take safety precautions so you don’t light the dry leaves and twigs on fire! This is a great time to invite some friends over to share in the Fall festivities.
Jump in a Pile of Leaves
I know, it is hard to rake all that up. But you simply haven’t lived until you jump in a pile of fallen leaves – crisp red, brown and orange. It is a delight we should a partake in yearly!
Drink Apple Cider
Sip warm apple cider just fills you up with Fall goodness. You can make some fresh apple cider right in your crock pot, check out this recipe from Wellness Mama.
Get Lost in a Corn Maze
This is one of those traditional Fall Activities that make you giggle…well unless getting lost freaks you out. After the maze roast up some fresh corn on the bbq with some chipotle lime butter.
Bake Fall Pies
Fill the house up with some Fall scents by baking some traditional Fall pies – apple, pumpkin and buttermilk pie.
Make Caramel Apples
Fall activities you can eat? Yes, please! After you get home from the orchard it is time to dunk those babies in some CARAMEL. I can’t make too many because I will eat them all myself. Try rolling the caramel apples in some crushed Butterfingers to add even more Fall color.
Visit a Real Pumpkin Patch
The king of all Fall Activities is the pumpkin patch. But if you can visit a farm with a real pumpkin patch, I highly recommend it. There is something special about pulling your pumpkin right off the vine! Next year, if you have the room, grow some pumpkins of your own.
Make Some Popcorn Balls
I remember as a kid there was a neighbor that always gave out popcorn balls for Halloween. That was back in the stone ages when you could eat homemade goodies from the neighbor’s house. But as Fall Activities go, this is a super yummy one! I’m going to try this recipe for Salted Caramel Popcorn Balls this year!
Fall activities are some of the most awesome ways to get in some fun family time. I hope this list gets you started on the path to Fall Family Fun!!!
I’d love to hear some of your family traditions for the Fall – let me know in the comments.
