Homemade Blue Cheese Dressing

October 25, 2013 by Tiffany Davis Leave a Comment

Making homemade blue cheese dressing isn’t complicated!  I have a 5 step recipe that you’re going to love.

Our family loves salads.  They are even better when I freshly pick the greens and veggies from our garden.  I like to top it with this homemade blue cheese dressing.  It tastes better than anything you’ll buy in a store.  Not to mention, you won’t be feeding your family a bunch of things no one needs to eat.

I don’t buy bottled salad dressing anymore.  Have you read the ingredients in a standard bottle of blue cheese dressing?

Ingredients: Soybean Oil, Water, Blue Cheese (Milk, Cheese Culture, Salt, Enzymes), Vinegar, Egg Yolks, Sugar, Salt, Contains Less than 2% of Xanthan Gum, Lactic Acid, Lemon Juice Concentrate, Dried Onions, Sorbic Acid and Calcium Disodium edta as Preservatives, Spice, Dried Garlic, Whey, Autolyzed Yeast Extract, Cheddar Cheese (milk, cheese culture, salt, enzymes), Molasses, Corn Syrup, Sodium Phosphate, Caramel Color, Anchovies, Tamarind, Natural Flavor

Easy 5 Step Homemade Blue Cheese DressingHomemade Blue Cheese Dressing

How about a 5 step easy peasy homemade blue cheese dressing that even your picky eaters will like?  This recipe will convince you that homemade not only tastes better, it is easy too!

    1. Measure 1 cup of sour cream and add to mixing bowl
    2. Measure 1 cup of real mayo (no soy plz) and add to bowl (make your own for even less yuck)
    3. Add 1 cup of blue cheese crumbles
    4. Add 1 Tablespoon of Vinegar (I used white balsamic)
    5. Add 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt, 2 dashes of garlic power and pepper to taste
    6. Mix

That’s it!  Chill until ready to serve your homemade blue cheese dressing.  But remember, because it has no preservatives it needs to be used within 3 days.

We’re having it on a wedge salad tonight for dinner!  Enjoy! 🙂
