For the Instant Pot

If you’re using the Instant Pot, slice the apples and oranges into ¼-inch slices, add in your ½ tablespoon of nutmeg, followed by the apple and orange slices, cinnamon sticks, and cloves. Be sure to evenly disperse everything.

Repeat the process with the rest of your ingredients before putting the content of the jar into the instant pot and using the sauté feature. You’ll need to add two cups of water and two tablespoons of vanilla per jar, bringing it to a boil while leaving the lid of your Instant Pot off.

When you’re making it with the slow cooker or on the stovetop, the instructions differ just a bit, but it’s still such a simple process that you can do it with ease. Don’t be discouraged if you don’t have an Instant Pot or don’t feel comfortable using it because you can still make the potpourri!

Slow Cooker

Add contents of the mason jar into slow cooker and set to high heat. Add 2 cups of water and 2 tablespoons of vanilla per jar and bring to a boil. Leave the lid off.

Enjoy the fall smells.

Stovetop

Add all contents to a pot on the stove. Bring to a boil. Once at a boil, reduce to a simmer.

Keep a close eye on the water levels and add more water as needed.

Leave any lids off.
