This is how I prepared oatmeal in my Instant Pot and it turned out perfectly delicious. Oatmeal is my favorite wintertime breakfast.

Pour all of your ingredients into your instant pot. Stir well to make sure everything is fully incorporated.
Place your lid on your instant pot by twisting it shot. Make sure to close the ceiling valve by pushing it away from you.
Set your instant pot to high-pressure for six minutes.
Once it has finished cooking, allow it to do a natural release (not a quick release). You will know that the natural lease is finished when the pin next to the ceiling valve has dropped. This should take about 30 minutes.
Once completed, give your oatmeal a good stir. Top with your favorite toppings such as a dash of cream, nuts, dried or fresh fruit. You can also add more brown sugar for an extra sweetness! Enjoy!

How can you save leftover oatmeal?
Oatmeal is best enjoyed right after it is made. But you can save left overs. You can refrigerate or freeze your oatmeal.
- Refrigerate leftover oatmeal for 3 – 5 days in an airtight container.
- Freeze leftover oatmeal for up to 3 months in a freezer safe container.
It is not a good idea to eat oatmeal if it has been sitting out overnight. Make sure to either put it in the refrigerator or freezer shortly after cooking to avoid bacteria or food borne illnesses.
You can even make oatmeal cookies with your leftovers!

It is best to reheat oatmeal with a little additional liquid. You can heat it up on the stove top or in the microwave.
