How to Prepare the Grinch Christmas Truffles in Advance and Store Them

If you want to save time later, you can make the Grinch Christmas Truffles whenever you have the time to do so. After preparing these truffles, place them in a large container on top of parchment paper. When setting your truffles into the container, avoid putting them too close together because you do not want them to stick together.

Put a lid on your container and keep them cold by placing them in your refrigerator. The truffles will stay fresh for a week in the fridge. When you need to save them for a longer period, place them in the freezer. The Grinch Christmas Truffles stay fresh when frozen for up to six months. Freezing them comes in handy when you want to bring these truffles with you to a large family gathering.

Different Variations of the Grinch Christmas Truffles

While the recipe calls for a box of devil’s food cake mix, you can use any boxed cake mix that you like. You may want to use vanilla, strawberry, or even lemon boxed cake mix to prepare the custom truffles that will taste good. You can make different variations of the truffles, using chocolate cake mix for some and your favorite vanilla cake mix for others.

Thank you Linda. I love that they are so easy to make but have such a lovely presentation. We used to give out truffles like this to neighbors every year.

Do you use the liquid food coloring in melting dip.
Or do you use oil based coloring
