September Sales Tips

If you find free items that you will not use, consider getting them for donation.

  1. These buys are based on sales cycles. Many times a store offer lost-leaders (losing money on an item) to get you into the store so that you’ll buy more.
  2. Don’t buy anything you don’t truly need, for now or in the future.
  3. Evaluate your space! Where will you store your stockpile? Stocking up on foods is great but you have to have a place to put it.
  4. Organize, evaluate and list before shopping.
  5. Be sure to check expiration dates first! Make sure you’re going to be able to use food items before they expire.
  6. Organize your pantry by earliest to the front and latest expiration dates to the back.
  7. Always stock things with multiple purpose, when you can.
  8. Plan to shop at several stores and sales for the best deals.
  9. You can find sales and stockpiling deals online if it has free shipping is you save gas and time.
  10. Don’t blow your monthly budget! If stockpiling isn’t in your budget check out How to Stockpile for $10 a Week.
  11. I highly recommend investing in a Food Saver to increase your storage time and put things is smaller increments. These are great for big bulk buying and work for pantry, refrigerator and freezer.
  12. Check store coupons – most stores will honor competitor prices and coupons!
  13. NEVER ACQUIRE DEBT! If you use credit cards you really aren’t saving yourself any money in the long run.
